Europe Bound: Comfort Food

So happy to be home, it gets even better when the "mastellen" arrive. There is nothing like comfort food when you're home.

A while ago I wrote an article on mastellen: doughnut shaped bread rolls made in the neighborhood and only in the neighborhood of Ghent, Belgium. You can read the article here.

Well... it is quite popular with my family members, all of whom are from Ghent. This Sunday we had a big family get together in our garden - the weather obliged - and my grandparents, and my great aunt, and my dad's cousin... all brought bags and bags of mastellen!

What a great and sweet surprise!
