» Cindy McGlynn - Deepah Mehta's "Water"
Anyone interested in this topic should see Deepah Mehta's recent award-winning film "Water." It's a visually stunning and deeply moving account of widows in India at around the time of Mahatma Gandhi -- and yes, there are plenty of scenes revolving around food, particularly food the women cannot eat. I was not aware of the complex web of alimentary restrictions for these women and the significance.» Katrien Vander Straeten - Deepah Mehta's "Water"

It sounds like Water is as controversial as Mehta's Fire.
