» TexHat - asking for info on raw meat consumption

In response to asking for info on raw meat consumption posted by kaatvds:
In the US, besides revulsion, there is a panic about bacteria and parasites that can be caught from raw meat.

My family has always scoffed a little at that, as I was raised eating raw cookie dough (raw eggs) and meat so rare it might as well have been raw.

In college I immedeatly took to sushi, then sashimi, and Steak Tartar (ground raw steak + raw eggs + vodka or gin, mixed together and served with toast, diced onion, and capers.)

Recently, I have been eating my chicken a hair undercooked as well, but it is tough to enjoy it given all the scare tactics I was raised around.

I would absoultly love to sink my teeth into truely raw chicken, or even pork, but have not a clue about how to start so I don't catch some sort of horrible food poisoning :P

Maybe I should just take my next vacation in Belgium.
